Before and after pictures of stained concrete applied to a basement in Gainesville, Georgia.

Stained concrete is popular for it’s beauty, durability, lower cost, and countless design options. This type of flooring option adds charm and enhances the re-sale value to your home or retail space. The benefits concrete staining provides make these floors the perfect choice compared to traditional flooring options such as, carpet and tile. The colors that are available to choose from are unlimited so you can have a look that’s just your own. Whether, it’s antiqued, diverse, marbled, or just a consistent solid color, Southern States Refinishing is here to help you get exactly what you want.

Placement for Stained Concrete

Our team has applied stained concrete in restaurants, retail spaces, and showrooms. These floors are extremely durable therefore, they are perfect for areas with high foot traffic or where heavy equipment is being used. Many homeowners choose concrete staining for their garage and basement. Can you imagine beautiful stained floors in your entry way? It’s the perfect alternative to tile that cracks and needs to be replaced every few years. Carpet also tends to hold dust and dirt which can cause allergies and other health issues in the future. In the long run stained concrete ends up saving you money because you don’t need to replace it or worry about doctor visits.

Long-Lasting Color

The color does not chip, flake, or peel away. Once concrete floors are prepped and cleaned the stain is applied. Then, it penetrates below the surface creating a durable, long lasting color that requires very little care to keep that brand-new look.

Low-Maintenance

When concrete stain is applied, it is sealed to protect and prolong the stain. Eventually, with traffic and weather exposure the surface may begin to wear away. This is normal and easily fixed. Interior surfaces are best protected by a wax application from time to time. Exterior surfaces may need to be resealed every year or so. For regular cleaning you can dry dust mop and occasionally wet mop as needed. If you choose to have stained concrete outside you can use a leaf blower and your garden hose to rinse it off and keep it looking clean.

Is Stained Concrete the Right Choice for You?

If you adore the look or dislike the idea of replacing tile and carpet then the answer is, absolutely. However, if you dislike the idea of “imperfections” such as hairline crack or uneven tones, then you may prefer a more traditional flooring option. Although, many of our clients love these “flaws” and say they add character and charm to their space. Stop dreaming about outstanding stained concrete floors and give Southern States Refinishing a call for your free quote with no strings attached.
