How Southern States Refinishing created a stained concrete floor to be as lovely as the people trying on dresses!
Step 1: First, we needed to remove the glue using our diamond grinder to expose the beautiful concrete hiding beneath it all. We were able to accomplish this with PCD’s and a three step grind process. We started with our 20 grit diamonds, moved up to our 50 grits, and finally finished using 100 grit diamonds. The concrete was now finally completely exposed. Not only did the grinder remove the glue but it also exposed the pores in the concrete. This is important because now the stain will be able to saturate into the concrete and create a good bond for a long lasting and durable coating.
Step 2: It is finally time to apply the stain! We offer a wide range of colors to choose from. Your choices differ from earthy browns, bright colors, to lighter pigments. Lately we have noticed a larger demand for white, which is also the color chosen for this concrete floor. White can help brighten up your space, gives a nice clean look and help make an area seem a little larger.
Step 3: Now that the white stain has been applied to the concrete doesn’t mean Southern States Refinishing is done just yet. Our final step entailed sealing the floor. Adding a sealer coat is very important because this will lock in the stain and protect it from scratching or discoloring in the future.
