Our tub refinishing process with GlassTech9000 provides a 30-year track record of success for residential and commercial bathtub renovations. Here are the basic steps our expert team uses on every project:
1. Clean bathtub and etch with Hawk Research extra strength etch. There is no better way to insure a proper bond to a glass-like surface than to acid-etch first. Acid etching dulls and roughens the surface so the primers will adhere to the bath.
2. Primer Coats. After proper prep steps and masking, the surface receives three high build epoxy primer coats. Absolutely no wipe-on thin primers here. We use UltraGrip high build from Hawk Research Labs.
3. Top Coat. If you’re receiving the best prep and primer system, you should also receive the best top coat. We apply three coats of GlassTech9000 to your tub surface. This system creates a resin-rich layer as it cures, leaving a glass-like long lasting surface.
4. Clean Up. All masking is removed if reachable, and the bathroom is inspected and cleaned before our departure.
